I hope this message finds you well. My name is Jim Ward, and I am a Special Education Hiring Manager with Cross Country Education. We are currently hiring for an EXPERIRENCED School Psychologist position at a local school in Montebello, CA 90640.

Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated experienced School Psychologist to provide services to Montebello Unified School District for the 2024-2025 school year. This full-time position is ideal for a dedicated professional looking to provide counseling and support services to K-12 students with special education needs. The candidate will be based at the District Office but will travel to various school sites as needed. Mileage reimbursement is available.

This position requires conducting assessments, providing Designated Instructional Services (DIS) counseling, and performing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs). Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Not accepting new grads at this time.

Compensation: $55.00 per hour

Estimated Annual Salary: $90,200

Key Responsibilities:
  • Educational-Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS): Provide direct services to students per their IEPs and collaborate with the team to assess and refer for ERMHS services.
  • Complete Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) to gather information on student behaviors of concern.
  • Student Support: Help students develop coping skills to manage stress, build tolerance for diversity, and resolve conflicts nonviolently. Assist in fostering positive peer and adult relationships.
  • Family Support: Provide outreach and resources to families dealing with social and emotional challenges, including divorce, depression, substance abuse, and more.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with administrators, staff, and families to address behavioral, academic, and social challenges. Participate in student conferences, IEP/504 meetings, and other relevant meetings.
  • Crisis Intervention: Provide personal guidance and crisis-intervention counseling when needed.
  • Transition Support: Assist students transitioning to high school or post-high school environments.
  • Consultation: Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents on students' social and emotional needs. Conduct classroom observations as necessary.
Caseload Information:
  • Grade Levels: K-12
  • Languages: Bilingual candidates preferred but not required.
Qualifications:
  • License/Credential Requirements: PPS credential required.
  • Experience: At least two years of school counseling experience preferred, particularly with students from diverse, limited-resource backgrounds.

Core Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
