Job Summary:
This candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality mathematics instruction to students, fostering an environment of academic excellence, and promoting personal and educational growth. The ideal candidate will create a dynamic, inclusive classroom where students develop a strong understanding of mathematical concepts, while encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and a passion for learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the high school math curriculum, covering subjects such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus.
  • Deliver effective and engaging instruction to students through various teaching methods, including direct instruction, group work, and hands-on activities.
  • Provide individualized support to students, addressing their unique learning needs and helping them achieve their academic goals.
  • Monitor student progress through assessments, assignments, and class participation, identifying areas of strength and opportunities for improvement.
  • Help students build effective study habits, organizational skills, and time management strategies to succeed in math.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and administrators to create personalized learning plans and interventions for students.
  • Encourage active participation and critical thinking during lessons, motivating students to engage with math in a meaningful way.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and the well-being of all students.
  • Participate in professional development activities to continue learning about best practices in math instruction and educational trends.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance, assessments, and classroom activities, ensuring compliance with school policies and confidentiality standards.

Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification in mathematics for grades 9-12.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching high school math in a classroom setting.
  • Strong knowledge of high school math curriculum and best practices in math instruction.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and connect with students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
