At Cross Country Education, we connect passionate educators with schools and districts across the country. We're currently seeking a dedicated School Psychologist to join our team and help support the academic and social development of students.
Position Overview:
The School Psychologist will provide a range of psychological services to children, including screening, assessment, and designing remedial educational programs. As a vital member of a multi-disciplinary team, you will help determine eligibility for special services and create appropriate programs to support students' needs. You will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations, policies, and standards related to special education services. The ideal candidate is committed to promoting student achievement, fostering positive school culture, and collaborating with educators to ensure student success.
Responsibilities:
- Consultation & Collaboration: Work with school principals, teachers, and staff to promote school-wide academic achievement and positive school culture using data analysis.
- Screening & Evaluation: Conduct thorough evaluations of referred students, including selecting appropriate instruments, administering tests, conducting observations, and providing reports that offer educational recommendations.
- Multi-Disciplinary Team Participation: Contribute to the Multi-disciplinary Evaluation Team (MET) by providing comprehensive reports and recommendations based on evaluation findings. Collaborate with the team to develop individualized educational programs (IEP) and make data-driven decisions about student placement and programming.
- RTI & Pre-Referral Intervention: Provide consultation and documentation related to Response to Intervention (RTI), pre-referral strategies, and accommodations/modifications for students with special needs.
- Direct Services: Deliver services through classroom presentations, staff in-services, and parent workshops as needed.
- Compliance & Ethical Standards: Adhere to ethical standards and legal requirements for special education programs, while promoting professional development and using research to inform recommendations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Submit reports and records promptly, maintaining efficient and accurate documentation.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Valid School Psychologist certification or proof of eligibility.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Successful completion of a school psychologist master's program.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, staff, and parents.
- Knowledge of current special education laws, procedures, and best practices.
