Job Posting: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for 1:1 Student Support

Position Overview:
We are looking for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to provide one-on-one support for a 4th-grade female student with Joubert's Syndrome at Cesar Chavez Elementary School. The student requires assistance with balance, motor control, and some behavioral support. The role includes close interaction and requires a candidate who is both mature and experienced in working with children who have complex physical and behavioral needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with transfers between wheelchair and walker, as well as between walker and desk
- Provide support for balance when using a walker
- Assist with toileting, hand-over-hand support during writing activities, and adjusting Chromebook positioning as needed
- Offer patient and compassionate responses to mild behavioral challenges, particularly during moments of frustration
- Observe shrimp allergy precautions and manage minor seizure history with diligence
Requirements:
- Current CNA License
- Willingness to complete Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training, with part of the training to take place in person at the Woodland Hills office
- Ability to provide gentle, experienced care for a student with ataxia and muscle control challenges
- A strong sense of patience and empathy for supporting the student’s needs in a school environment
Compensation:
- Pay Rate: $23/hour
- Bonuses: $500 total—$250 at winter break and $250 at the end of the school year
Training & Support:
CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training will be provided, funded by Cesar Chavez Elementary. Candidates must be open to participating in this program.
