Position Overview:
We are hiring for multiple teaching roles at both our Upper and Lower campuses. These positions are ideal for educators who are dedicated to providing high-quality education, fostering student growth, and contributing to a supportive learning environment. Teachers are expected to be professional, well-prepared, and able to adapt to students' individual needs while aligning with the Connecticut state requirements and curriculum.
Available Teaching Positions:
Upper Campus (Grades 7-12):
- History Teacher
- Math Teacher (Pre-Calculus and Algebra 2)
- Biology Teacher
Lower Campus (Grades K-6):
- 4th Grade ELA Teacher
- Work with 22 students per class.
- Must understand CT's “Science of Reading” requirements.
- Familiarity with the Lavinia Reading Curriculum preferred.
- Must be able to walk through lesson plans and differentiate based on student needs.
- Classroom management experience required.
- STEM Teacher (Math & Science Focus)
- Must understand CT state standards and be able to deliver engaging lesson plans.
- Classroom management and knowledge of subject matter required.
Responsibilities:
- Lesson Planning & Instruction: Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons that align with state standards.
- Classroom Management: Create a positive and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Assessment & Differentiation: Evaluate student progress regularly, adapt lessons to meet students' needs, and provide feedback.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other faculty, staff, and parents to ensure student success.
- Compliance: Adhere to state educational guidelines, including knowledge of specific curriculum standards such as the “Science of Reading” and STEM education.
- Professionalism: Maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions with students, staff, and parents. Teachers are required to wear professional attire daily, including a tie and button-up shirt for men.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree required (in Education or a relevant field).
- Minimum of 12 Credits in the subject area if not a certified teacher (transcripts required).
- Connecticut Teaching Certification is preferred but not required.
- 1-2 years of teaching experience in the subject area preferred.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
- Familiarity with CT state education requirements and curriculum is preferred, especially for ELA and STEM teachers.
